Clean up time can be fun

I just wanted to share something that I do with my son when "play-time" is over and it's time to get ready for bed. We sometimes would go through a rough time trying to get my son to help clean up before bed time. But...I've found a way to make it fun for him to clean up. We sometimes use paper towel tubes to drop blocks down the "chute" into the bucket. Or we use the matchbox race tracks to shoot the cars into the toy box. I tell him that we want to see what cars go the fastest, or what blocks make the most noise.

This way we are secretly cleaning up, but my son is having fun too. We are both happy by the time bedtime arrives!
